About the Artist

Marsha Dennis is a Utah-based artist who has been drawing and painting for as long as she can remember. One of her earliest memories of making art dates back to second grade, when a visiting artist came to her classroom. After seeing her drawings, he offered encouragement that left a lasting impression and helped foster her belief that art was a path worth pursuing.
Creativity was also nurtured at home. Her sister, an artist herself, was a constant source of inspiration. Watching her sketch on anything she could find—paper, napkins, even walls—encouraged Marsha to develop her own artistic skills. Her sister taught her how to draw horses and inspired her to keep practicing and improving.
As she grew, Marsha took every art class available to her, from public school programs to 4-H workshops. She learned oil painting from a generous neighbor who volunteered her time to teach children in the community. Later, while attending college, Professor Max Bunnell became a guiding influence in her artistic development. His encouragement and instruction deepened her appreciation for watercolor and helped shape the direction of her work. She remains grateful for the mentors, teachers, family members, and friends who have supported her artistic journey.
Marsha paints whenever she can—sometimes alongside her grandson while camping, sometimes with fellow artists in the field, but most often in her studio. The outdoors is her greatest source of inspiration. From gathering storm clouds and wildflowers to old barns, weathered trucks, and expansive mountain vistas, she paints subjects that capture her attention and invite a closer look. Her work ranges from landscapes and wildlife to rural scenes and figures, reflecting a curiosity about the world around her rather than a commitment to a single subject.
Her goal is simple: to share what she sees and experiences through paint. Through her artwork, she hopes to convey the beauty and character of the places, subjects, and moments that inspire her.
